Summary: A wonderful record of Grace, faith and love - Highly recommended
Comment: I've literally read scores, if not hundreds of Christian biographies. this one, without doubt, ranks right up there at the top. It's absolutely captivating from beginning to end. It very quickly emerges that the Bakers - and Heidi in particular, as she appears more prominent than Rolland - has the most incredibly strong faith - this in the face of, sometimes, the most horrendous circumstances that would make many of us run in the other direction. It's this faith - and simple (in the best sense of the word) faith that gives her an implicit trust in her Father/Provider, and as a result, she sees some quite stunning miracles happen. These really are spiritually encouraging and uplifting. But through the whole book, what shines most of all - on almost every page - is the love that this woman has for the desperately poor and needy. she seems to love the unlovely (and many of these kids, she found smelling, anti-social and with absolutely nothing to give) - but she loves the unlovely like no-one else I know of. She has received so much grace from God, and thus she seems able to impart incredible (should I say Amazing) grace unto others - everyone, rich or poor. I love this spirit - and was greatly stimulated by this fine record. And there's a story of a remarkable revival to boot! (I confess I've always had reservations about some aspects of the Toronto Blessing. Heidi had numeerous unusual experiences at Toronto; one or two of these might have concerned me, but in Heidi's case, they seemed to have resulted in a very positive and practical outcome, for she went immediately back out to the mission field, and was empowered to love and minister in even greater measure). This book is very well worth checking out. And when you've finished it, pass it on to a friend.

Summary: Fantastic!
Comment: I cannot remember being so moved by a book before. The stories of Rolland and Heidi Baker's journey following God's leading around the world and into Mozambique are incredible. It reminds you how big God is, what he is capable of and shows just what he is doing today. This book stirred, inspired and encouraged me beyond words. I cannot recommend it enough.

Summary: Jars of Clay
Comment: This is one of the most inspiring christian books I have read over the last 40 years. Roland writes of his Awe of God, especially when flying over southern Africa with all it's weather & storms and seeking God's provision and receiving it. Heidi writes so personally of her walk with God & witness to God that the reader is completely taken into her life and can share in the mighty witness of her work there. This is a book that I have lent to many people and we are all buying as gifts for friends to inspire and encourage them.If you have read 'The Cross & The Switchblade' and 'Chasing the Dragon' then this book is a must too.

Summary: A Fantastic Account About What God Is Doing
Comment: This is a fantastic testimony of the power of God in our time! Heidi and Rolland Baker are living examples of what God can and will do with laid down lives, radical lovers of Jesus. This book is the story of Rolland and Heidi Baker. It tells of their humble beginnings where they just believed God and went out to the mission field to make a difference. They share their experiences in Indonesia, Hong Kong, London, and Mozambique, with the focus on the latter. They share about how Jesus thrust them into the harvest out of intimacy; their ministry went from 2 churches to over 5000!
They disclose, from their own experience, of the faithfulness of God and that He truly is More Than Enough. Rolland tells story after story about how God has used them to see the lost, poor, orphans, widows come to know Jesus. Heidi share's her intimate experiences with Jesus and how they radically transformed her life and ministry. These are powerful, impacting testimonies that will encourage, challenge and spur you on into deeper intimacy with Jesus... because He is worth it!
I highly recommend this book and if you can, get your church or conference to host Heidi and you will never be the same again.
